Blake Orlov
Chicago Bounce was created and founded by Blake at the age of 24 where he is one of the youngest club directors in the region. Don't let that fool you he has over 10 years of playing experience. Blake has coached 6 years now and has worked with all ages and prides himself on the development of younger players as well as helping the older players take it to the next level. He played for the 2000 Stevenson Patriots who were the runners-up in the state championship. Blake was an All-Area player that year, and then moved on to the University of Arizona where he started off as the Girls Volleyball Manager. He studied for 3 years under Coach Dave Rubio, and he also competed on the Arizona's Men's Club team. Come 2002 Blake Earned All-America Honors at the National Championships in Dallas. After coming home from school, Blake joined with TNT Volleyball for 2 years. His first year he was asked to coach the 16-1and when the 18-1 coach left the program Blake took over that team as well. The next year TNT had Blake coaching 3 teams the 16 and 18 elite teams as well as a Freshman Girls team. After 2 years at TNT it was time for a change, and CHICAGO BOUNCE was created. During the 2005/2006 season the Chicago Bounce fielded an 18's elite team. The 2006/2007 season the Chicago Bounce has extended itself to a 16's and 18's teams in the Boys Division, and now the Chicago Bounce will extend into the Girls Volleyball arena. The 2007/2008 campaign was Chicago Bounce's most successful and had an enormous amount of growth as 4 teams became 12 teams. The talent level keeps increasing and his girls program brought home 2 championships at the Asics Invite and The Energy Invite. Also in 2008 Blake competed in his first ever professional beach tournament with the EVP tour and next summer hopes to compete on the EVP tour a few more times as well as play on the AVP tour Chicago event.

This will be my third season coaching with Chicago Bounce and I am excited to be taking on a new challenge with the fourteen-and-under team after spending the past two seasons at the fifteen-and-under level. In addition to working with the club, I have also coached the Freshmen Boys’ Volleyball team at Maine East High School for the last two years. This has given me the unique opportunity to follow the athletes as they develop through the winter with the club and then with their respective high-school programs in the spring. The kids and parents have also seemed to enjoy the opportunity to compete against a former coach when they get the chance. It has been a great privilege to share my passion for volleyball, in addition to the many benefits and lessons that accompany being involved in such an exciting team sport, with these young athletes and I am looking forward to another tournament season with Chicago Bounce.

I was first introduced to the game of volleyball in 8th grade. From then on, my love for the game has never ceased. During my freshmen year at Niles West High School, I made the junior varsity team. And beginning sophomore year, I made varsity, earning a role on the starting squad. After my junior year season, I was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and also was named to the All-Conference team for the Central Suburban League. I was named captain my senior year and, for the second year in a row, I was named MVP. I also received All-State Honorable Mention honors by the Chicago Tribune and All-State 2nd team honors by the Chicago Sun-Times in 2003. I graduated high school in 2003 and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, where I played for the club team there. I am currently 23 years old, and I just finished my undergraduate studies. I was on the pre-pharmacy track while majoring in Psychology and pursuing a minor in Religious Studies. I am hoping to apply to pharmacy schools in the near future. I am excited to be coaching this year for Chicago Bounce Volleyball and I hope to enhance the program by developing young athletes into becoming premium volleyball players.

I just graduated college with a major in Physical Education/ Coaching from Ball State University. I come from a family of teachers and really enjoy working with kids of all ages. I am currently a substitute for a couple of school districts and this will be my second "official" year of coaching. I am young and very eager to get started in what I went to college for. While attending BSU I played on the Men's Club Volleyball team for 3 years. I mostly played outside hitter, but stepped in as setter for a couple of semesters due to injuries and shortage of players. I also helped the president of the club run the practices. My last semester at BSU I was a volunteer coach for WAVE a girl's club volleyball team. I played volleyball all 4 years of high school at Oak Park/River Forest, which is a very competitive school for men's volleyball. I set my freshmen year, but then I grew so they put me outside. I played varsity my junior and senior year. My senior year I made the All Conference team. Volleyball was brought into my life at the end of 7th grade. I joined to impress a young lady ... not sure what she is doing these days, but it was one of the best decisions of my life. I hope that coaching for Chicago Bounce is my next great life decision.

This is my first year coaching for the Chicago Bounce family. I started playing volleyball my freshman year at Palatine High School as an outside and right side hitter. My family moved across town my sophomore year so I ended up playing at William Fremd High School as an outside hitter. I then went off to play at the University of Illinois for a year. There I was a libero for their white and blue team. I then went off to play USAV for 2 years as an outside hitter. We played at the BB level my first year then moved up to A the following year with Bada Bing. I then went off to finish my studies at Northern Illinois University. I played for their club team for 1 year as a libero. . In the 2005 and 2006 season I helped coach the Harper Junior College women's team. Both years they went to nationals and took fourth place. I am excited to coach here at Chicago Bounce and am looking forward to a successful year.

My name is Mark Motluck. This is my second year coaching at Bounce. I’ve been coaching volleyball for 20 years mainly in the Chicago land area. I started off coaching at the middle school level and have worked with a variety of skill level players from beginners to collegiate All-Americans. I spent four years in California at Palm Springs coaching at the high school level and now have found my way back to Chicago coaching at nearby Highland Park High School for both boys and girls. I truly love this sport, the team atmosphere, the competitive level and sharing it with people who love it as much as I do. Volleyball has made a large impact on my life in many ways, most importantly in the connections you make with people involved in it. I look forward to working with you and sharing what we can teach each other. Return to Top
